This is the day where we can officially say we have started the process to bring our little boy home from Africa. There has been much discussion and prayer and in a lot of cases people thinking we had lost our minds. However, we know this to be true. This is not of us...this is of the Lord. We feel that the time is now...not to wait and contemplate but to go and do. Being willing to take a step of faith and say,"Hey Lord here we are...use us." We trust You, Lord, and know You are faithful. This is for His glory at the end of the day...not for us!
Where are you right now in the process you might ask???? Well, I am working on getting our application completed and gathering all the documents that they want us to attach to the application before we can "officially" start the process. However, for Andy and I this started 7 years ago when we got married. We knew it was coming but just didn't know when. We are researching, talking to other adoptive families....making sure we are hearing the good and the bad throughout the process. We want to be as prepared as we can be and then we know the Lord will help us with the rest. We are specifically asking for a little boy that is younger than Gray. We really want to keep the birth order in order. :)
Things you can be praying for our little one: 1) protection, 2) his health. We already know that he is there. We have to be willing to work hard to meet God where He needs us and things of this earth will be taken care of as long as we are steadfast.
Are there plenty of things to worry about? Well sure but I am not even going to go there. God will be with us!
There are no words to describe how we love our child already and we have not even seen him yet. All the hard work will pay off and to one day hold our little boy in our arms and be able to say, "you are safe, you are loved and Jesus loves you most of all." I look forward to that!
